Option 1: Helping Translate a WordPress Plugin in Your Language

This is by far the easiest option and is also highly recommended as it will not only help you to use the WordPress plugin, but it will also help other users as well.

Option 2: Translate a Plugin For Your Site

This second option will allow you to translate a WordPress plugin specifically for your use only.  With this method, you will be translating the plugin in the admin area of your WordPress site.  This means that any of your translations will immediately be shown on your site.

The first thing you will need to do if you choose to use this option is to install Loco Translate and activate it on your site.  Once this plugin is active, you can then head to Loco Translate and then to plugins.  You will then be able to begin the translation process for the different plugins on your site.

If you’re looking to translate a particular plugin, you’ll need to scroll through the full list of plugins and select the one you want to translate.  On the next screen, you will see a list of different languages already available for the plugin.  If your language is already available, simply select it.  If it is not yet available, you’ll need to click the ‘new language’ button.

On the new language page, you will first need to select your language.  You then have the option to use WordPress language or a custom language.

Next up, you will need to decide where you would like to store your translation files.  The default option when using Loco Translate is to save the files in their own folder.

Once you have configured your settings, you can start translating.  As you can see, translating a plugin is actually a fairly simple process.
