Magento: Imagine 2016 is revving up

It’s getting closer – Imagine commerce 2016 is only one month away. Held in Las Vegas on April 11-13th, it’s going to be an unmissable event for anyone who is running an e-commerce business, any developers or agencies who wants to be at the cutting edge of the e-commerce world, or if you’ve come up with an innovative technology solution and you want to show it to the world.

Magento have announced that they have a very special guest lined up as the keynote speaker – Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson – the famous basketball player and now as the head of Magic Johnson Enterprises, the $700 million company that have continued his successes long after he left the basketball court.

Imagine Commerce started six years ago and has rapidly risen to be the star event in the e-commerce calendar (apart from the run up to Christmas, of course!). It brings together over 2500 experts, whether merchants, agency types, or technology providers from across the world where they can get together to talk, promote, educate and collaborate in a fun and friendly environment.

There is a lot of hype out there about Imagine Commerce, and once you go, it’s easy to see why. The atmosphere is alive, the hubbub of chat all about the future and how bright it is for e-commerce. It’s easy to get drawn up into the excitement, chatting to everyone. In fact, it’s so good; the only thing wrong is that you can’t talk to everyone!

Helping to show how Magento is so important to eBay, and indeed, part of its long term growth strategy, the line up for this year’s event is proving to be the best yet, with speakers including Craig Hayman, President of eBay Enterprise, Jamie Clarke, Co-Founder, the Senior Vice President and Chief Digital Officer of Toys ‘R’ Us, Fred Argir, Kyle Metcalf from Rackspace, Bill Ready from PayPal/Braintree as well as a host of representatives from some of the biggest e-commerce companies in the world.

There’s not just Imagine Commerce to come though, there is a whole ecosystem of events lined up before and after. There’s the Pre-Imagine Mage Hackathon, a couple of races if that’s your buzz – a 10K and a 5k for those so inclined, as well as the all important #PreImagine Happy Hour.

The Magento Forums hit their 100,000 member recently, demonstrating that Magento is going from strength to strength. Join in by visiting Imagine Commerce today…

…Or if you’d rather not travel the 11 hours all the way over to America, there is the Magento Live UK 2016 – a little closer to home in London in June. Running over the 20th and 21st, you can grab a ticket and register to attend to find out all that you need to know on all the latest Magento-related news. But it probably won’t be as fun. Likewise, you probably won’t lose all your money playing poker, or wake up drunk with a tiger and a face tattoo that you can’t remember getting. The choice is yours!
